Warranty & Care

Backed by a transferable lifetime warranty.

Every TLA USA install uses genuine Alumawood materials from Amerimax — and every install is covered by Amerimax's Transferable Limited-Lifetime Warranty. Here's what that means, how to care for your cover, and how to register.

01 — What's covered

Manufacturing defects — for the life of the original purchaser.

Amerimax's warranty covers manufacturing defects in Alumawood lattice, patio cover, carport, and awning products — and it stays with the home when you sell.

Won't split
Alumawood is engineered to resist splitting under normal wear.
Finish stays
The factory finish will not chip, peel, flake, or blister under normal use.
Transferable
The warranty transfers with the home for the first 10 years of coverage — a real value at resale.
Fine print, plain English: The warranty covers manufacturing defects. It doesn't cover normal weathering, chalking, fading, environmental black streaking, or damage from accidents, misuse, chemical fumes, salt air, or acts of God. Steel components aren't warranted against rust. The full terms are in the PDF below — and we'll walk you through them at your 15-minute visit.

02 — Care & cleaning

Simple to maintain. Rain does most of the work.

Amerimax's official care instructions, straight from the manufacturer. Give a little extra attention to areas that don't see much rain.

1
The basics

Let the rain do the work.

Natural rainfall keeps most Alumawood surfaces clean. Areas with limited rain exposure benefit from occasional attention — a quick rinse with the garden hose usually does the trick.

2
Moderate dirt

Hose + soft brush.

An occasional washing with a garden hose and a soft-bristled brush — a long-handled car-washing brush works well — keeps surfaces looking new.

3
Heavier accumulation

Detergent solution.

Wash as above, then use this manufacturer-recommended solution:

  • 1/3 cup detergent (e.g., Tide®)
  • 2/3 cup trisodium phosphate (e.g., Soilax®)
  • 1 gallon water
4
Mildew

Detergent + bleach solution.

Mildew can collect on any surface. If you see black spots, use this solution:

  • 1/3 cup detergent (e.g., Tide®)
  • 2/3 cup trisodium phosphate (e.g., Soilax®)
  • 1 quart 5% sodium hypochlorite solution (e.g., Clorox®)
  • 3 quarts water
5
Black streaking

Gutter Zap 4.

Environmental black streaking can collect on surfaces. Remove it with Gutter Zap 4 — available from us, your installer. Give us a call or text and we'll help you get it.

6
Caulking, tar, or spills

Mineral spirits, then rinse.

For caulking compounds, tar, or similar foreign substances, use mineral spirits in reasonable amounts — apply directly to the substance and rinse thoroughly with water immediately after cleaning.

03 — Registration

Register your warranty within 30 days.
